USAF History

52-6068 was made available on 05-Nov-1952 and accepted on 12-Nov-1952 by the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit), at Downsview, ON., after which it was assigned to the Air Defence Command and delivered to the 29th Air Division at Great Falls AFB., MT., on 20-Nov-1952 remaining after the name changed to Malmstrom on 31-Jul-1955 and throughout its career up to 31-Jul-1962.

It visited Downsview for maintenance in the middle of 1956 for some six weeks and in 1961 passed to a component of the 29th, the 4642nd Support Wing on 13-Apr-1961. Remaining at Malmstrom it was re assigned to the Strategic Air Command and was initially attached to the 4061st Composite Group from 28-Apr-1961, the 341st Strategic Wing from 15-Jul-1961 and the 361st Composite Group from 30-Sep-1961 until at least 31-Jul-1962.

The further USAF history of this aircraft is to be researched.
