Accident: Anticosti Island. QC. Lat 49.35N, Long 62.43W. 18-Jan-1984. (Translated from French). During a flight counting wildlife (deer) stocks, the pilot decided to land on skis on a snowy forest track with very little margin for error either side of his wings. The track was lying on a slightly left axis and after a short distance the left wing hit a small tree. It then hit another and the aircraft started to turn to the left. The pilot therefore decided to put on full power but the aircraft encountered a snowy mound. A landing ski was seriously damaged in the collision. It seems that the tail then hit the mound and also suffered serious damage that was aggravated when the left horizontal stabiliser also hit a small tree. The aircraft climbed the mound and came to rest inverted in the forest.
