• A brief biography of the artist •
"Awards winner Helene Croft moved to Northwest Territories, Canada 17 years ago. In 1996, Helene began painting as a way to express her love for this beautiful part of the country. She studied and experimented with different mediums and worked hard to develop a distinctive style. Now working mostly in acrylic, her paintings vividly depict the landscape, wildlife and people of northern Canada. The world of aviation which is part of everyone life in the North is her favorite subject. From float planes on the barren land to aircraft on skis in high arctic environment, Helene finds inspiration to create new works. She has participated successfully in various exhibitions and art competitions in North America. Commissions are always welcome since they bring new venues and ideas. She presently resides in Fort Smith with her husband Bruno and 2 children Alexandre and Emilie."
