CF-JOP B.C  Airlines Ltd., Vancouver, BC. Delivered 22-Mar-1957. Canx in 1970 following accident.

Accident: Missing from Port Hardy. Crash site unknown. BC.06-Jun-1969. The aircraft departed Port Hardy Airport at 09:25 PST on 06-Jun-1969 on a flight to deliver mail to Millbrook Cove and other points. The remains of the aircraft have not been found despite an extensive search, although a crushed and partly burned fuel gauge part from a DHC-2 was found near Bull Harbour on 16-Jun-1970. The part is believed to have come from the missing aircraft.

Lost at Sea - Destroyed

The following note came from Glen Rankine.

CF-JOP left Port Hardy BC on amphibs June 6th 1969, with pilot Dick Vaughan heading up the coast, nothing was ever found. Norm Gold and Air West had recently bought out the Port Hardy base from BC Airlines. My logbook shows 5 hrs searching for Dick the following day out of Bella Bella. Dick and I flew together for Alert Bay Air Services, and he had just gone to work for Air West.
