USAF history

52-6136 was made available on 23-Jun-1953 and accepted on 10-Jul-1953 by the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit), at Downsview, ON., after which it was delivered to the Tactical Air Command and the 1st Liaison Squadron at George AFB., on 17-Jul-1953 remaining with the unit until 18-Jan-1954. Staying at this location in passed to 479th Fighter Bomber Wing on 18-Jan-1954. This was re designated as the 479th Day Fighter Wing just one month later on 15-Feb-1954 where apart from a several short attachments to units at McChord AFB., WA., listed below; it remained until 06-Jun-1961.

The McChord attachments were as follows: 567th Air Defence Group, 18-22-Oct-1954, 05-22-Nov-1954, 07-18-Apr-1955, The 325th Fighter Wing 12-16-Mar-1956, 11-26-Jun-1957, 17-22-Jul-1957. A return to Downsview between 13-Jun-1955 and 25-Jul-1955 also occurred.

A change to this programme occurred as mentioned above on 06-Jun-1961 when it moved to the 4510th Combat Crew Training Wing at Luke AFB., AZ. It stayed until 31-Aug-1961 after which it was assigned to the Systems Command and attended the Los Angeles Air Depot at Ontario, CA between 31-Aug-19611 until 18-Sep-1961 presumably for Maintenance and then still with Systems Command to Wright Patterson AFB., OH., attached to a unit with the Acronym AODDV, which is currently unexplained (Any suggestions welcomed.). Currently its last known deployment was at Offutt AFB., NE., with the 3902nd Air Base Wing.

Its remaining Air Force history is still to be researched.
