USAF History

52-6059 was made available on 09-Oct-1952 and accepted on 21-Oct-1952 by the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit), at Downsview, ON., after which it was delivered to the Tactical Air Command at Greenville / Donaldson AFB., and the 7th Liaison Squadron. It enjoyed a short deployment with the 7th to Griffiss AFB., between 14-Mar-1953 and 14-Mar-53 after which it returned to Greenville / Donaldson.

Its next move was a brief assignment to the Military Air Transport Command commencing on 27-Jun-1953 at Andrews AFB., MD., where it joined the 1401th Air Base Wing. This lasted until 17-Dec-1953 after which it again returned to its previous location now formally named Donaldson AFB.

From here it passed to the Newark point of embarkation on 25-May-1953 with the 2847th Transportation Control Depot (TPC) Wing prior to transportation to Europe and the Air Force Europe Command. It is shown as arriving at Chateauroux in France on 04-Jun-1954 and moved on to Bordeaux on 25-Aug 1954 where it joined the 7413rd Air Base Squadron and later to the 7413rd Support Group on 15-Mar-1957.

A period of maintenance at Vergiate, Northern Italy, with the Air Material Overseas Command occurred between 12-Jun-1957 and 05-Nov-1957. It returned to active service at Weisbaden, Germany and to the 7100st Support Wing on 05-Nov-1957. The record card for the next section is unreadable until we find it at the 7272nd Air Base Wing at Wheelus AFB., Libya. It is believed that it was still here in 1962 but its remaining history is to be researched.
