Accident: Dillon SK, Peter Pond Lake, 20 mi. Northwest of Buffalo Narrows, Saskatchewan, 18-Jul-1969. Accident occurred whilst the aircraft was forest fire bombing. The aircraft was equipped with external roll tanks above the floats and following a drop its wing struck 80-100’ trees in a climb, crashed inverted and burned. Steven Ernest Hetherington and his passenger killed Apparently the aircraft had the reputation for being one of the finest performing Beavers of its day, capable of speeds well above average.
