Accident: Gardiner Lake, AB. Lat 57.34N, Long 112.28W. 05-Sep-1987. The aircraft was being used to fly fishermen between camps on Namur and Gardiner Lakes. The take-off was being made from a river leading into a bay on Gardiner Lake. As the aircraft left the mouth of the river, the pilot attempted to lift off to avoid the rough water on the lake. As the floats were leaving the water, the aircraft began to roll to the left, and the pilot applied full right aileron. The aircraft veered 90 degrees to the left and struck the tree-covered bank of the bay, 100 feet left of the centre line of the river. No injuries recorded.
