The Main Index is this location - This is the page to bookmark.

I'm currently redoing all of the images in the table below to a larger size.

Some new areas have already been opened in the new larger format - I feel they had to be bigger to do full justice to the his fine images.

USAF Images (6) • USN Images (8) • European Air Arms (12) • RAF - FAA - AAC (3) • Lockheed SP-2 Neptune (25) •

Some of his Canadian Armed Forces images will appear here along with my photos • CAF Images

A dedicated section of my web site to my life long friend

Robert A. (Eddy) Edwards. 1945 - 2004

Eddy's black and white images cover, in my opinion, a magical era in aviation. Many of these images have never been printed and deserve to finally see the light of day. Excellent pictorial records of times gone by. Happy days spent in the company of aircraft, outdoors in all weather, each image a time capsule. Often just a normal daily event, seldom recorded by others. Eddy obviously was a great record keeper, hoping one day to spend happy hours enjoying and sharing these images with his mates . . alas, that was not to be. Eddy died on the 21st November 2004.

This collection of his work will be my memorial to him, and it will be my great pleasure to digitally prepare some of his many images for present and future generations to admire, researchers to relish, pilots, ground crews, and controllers to remember and reminisce.

My thanks to Verity, his loving wife, who shepherded the negatives this summer from the United Kingdom to Canada for this project. I hope, dear Verity, that I can present his work in a way that meets Rob's very high standards! I have a feeling that he will be watching my every move. What a wonderful guy.

Neil Aird, Kingston, Ontario - November 2005.

Another batch of negatives and note books arrived safely on January 5th and 6th, 2006.

Below is a snap of us taken in our "later" Spotting years.

Bookmark this page and check every month or so. I will add images when I can.

You'll enjoy the content, there will be something for every one!

I plan also eventually to list by serial or registration, perhaps location as well? This will be once I get data transcribed from log books and match up places, planes, and dates!! I now have Eddy's old log books, what treasures. I hope I live long enough to do this!!

Note: 27 March 2010. I have started to add some of "Eddy's" great shots at various locations on my website. The first is a page of Lockheed SP-2 Neptune. The next is a section on USAF aircraft. These will be mainly KC-135/C-135; B-52; C-130; etc., to start with. I also plan to increase the size of Eddy's images on this section of his collection...they are just too darned small to enjoy!

"Sharing the moment - A simpler time". (check the fence)

Eddy and I went to RNAS Yeovilton and this strange, rather loud aircraft decided to join the circuit !
