58-2053 US Army # 1933 L-20 No. 924. Command A-16. Delivery date unknown.

82053 Royal Laotian Air Force. Current in Jan-1972.

Royal Laotian Service history: Based at Thakhek West (Cambodia), in Nov-1965 and carried a 0.5 machine gun in port cabin door plus four small bomb racks under wings. The aircraft was reported as current on 01-Apr-1972. This is believed to be the U-6 that was assigned to contract USAID-439-342 for operation by Air America in the FY 72 Programs, current at least from Jan-1972 to Jun-1973. The aircraft was returned to the US Army.

58-2053 Returned to US ARMY. Circa 1973.

Note: Reported as “Found” in DPDO Yard in crates in Bankok, Thailand. Details shown in auction brochure no 62-6040 for opening bids on 09-Apr-1976. Quoted as in used, fair condition with a covering note stating it had to be removed from DPDO - Bangkok by 28-May-1976. It was purchased for $9,852.00 by Alliance Aircraft Ltd, an offshoot of B & M which in turn was owned by Laurentian Aircraft Services Ltd., of Ottawa, ON., and sold on to them for $1.00 on 12-Apr-1977.
