Note: Named “Vulture” when with RCMP, associated with the last letter of the registration.

• CF-MPV Air Amos Ltée., Amos, (Amos Aviation Ltée), QC. Regd prior to Certificate of Airworthiness renewal dated 14-Sep-1974. Canx 29-Sep-1982.

Accident: Ft Rupert, QC. Lat 51.29N, Long 78.44W. 20-Apr-1981. The pilot tried to take off with a cross wind component of 22 to 26 kts.. The pilot was obliged to use the right brake in addition to keep steering with rudder control. When the take off reached a critical point, his foot slid off the rudder bar (his boot sole was covered in snow) and he lost directional control. The aircraft left the runway and stopped in a ditch. The flight manual for the aircraft indicates that the maximum cross wind component in the icy conditions  is safe up to 9 kts.
