Accident: Ekaluk River, Nunavut. 16-Jul-2009.The aircraft was forced to make a precautionary landing on the tundra due to deteriorating weather whilst en route Cambridge Bay to Surrey River, Nunavut. Upon turning out of Ferguson Lake, NU, to follow river the aircraft immediately encountered thick fog The pilot sustained minor injuries with the aircraft receiving substantial damage. On July 16, 2009, a/c had departed Cambridge Bay, NU, for Surrey River, NU.Upon turning out of Furguson Lake, NU, to follow river, a/c immediately encountered thick fog. Pilot attempted to turn around but in process struck terrain.
