Accident: 46 miles NE of Chute des Passes, Lac Margane Water Aerodrome, QC. Lat 50.24N, Long 71.32W. 13-Jul-1988. (Translated from French) The pilot overflew the lake three times to determine if the location was suitable for a water landing. During the run after landing, a gust of wind raised the left side of the aircraft. Corrective inputs have not managed to recover the aircraft and the right wing hit the water hard. The aircraft righted itself, but it suffered significant damage to the rear structure (tail?) and the right float. The three occupants were uninjured The lake, north-south oriented, sour me some 3000 feet long and is bordered on each side by mountains. The pilot stated that the wind was blowing from the left, the 90 degrees, gusty.
