Note: Purchased by McKinney at the Davis Monthan auction sale on 29-Jan-1976 for $28,000US. Purchased on the basis of ”having a reasonable potential for normal certification”. Total time 6,449.4 hours, engine 5,197.4 hours. Comment at time of auction: five seats and average condition.

Incident: Ketchikan Harbour, AK. 21-May-1993. Bird Strike. On climb out aircraft struck by large bird which struck cross wires on floats. Bird reported as “Eagle, Bald”. Well it wasn’t bald before the incident it was afterwards!

Accident: Ketchikan, AK. 12-Dec-1996. Aircraft had just taken off and was climbing out over bay when hit by strong wind gust. Right wing dropped and aircraft crashed into water. Pilot drowned, but passenger escaped without injury through windscreen. Although attempts were-made to recover the aircraft high winds in area hindered the attempt. Aircraft not recovered, considered destroyed. NTSB report ANC97LA014.
