Note: Purchased by Aviation Maintenance. Ltd at the Davis Monthan auction sale on 29-Jan-1976 for US$23,000. Total time 4,752.5 hrs. Engine time unknown. Sold as “no reasonable potential for normal certification”. Commented on as doors dented, having two rear data plates, four seats, oil cooler missing and in average condition.

USAF History

52-6134 was made available on 17-Jun-1953 and accepted on 03-Jul-1953 by the 6600th Air Depot AMO (Air Material Overseas Unit), at Downsview, ON., after which it was delivered to the Tactical Air Command and the 1st Liaison Squadron at George AFB., CA., on 13-Jul-1953 remaining with the unit until 18-Jan-1954.

It then moved to the Air Material Command San Antonio Air Depot at McClellan AFB., CA., and then the San Francisco Port of Embarkation on 24-Mar 1954 prior to transportation to Eniwetok Atoll in the Pacific Marshall Islands arriving on 03-Apr-1954. Here it was assigned to the Air Research and Development (ARD) Command initially attached to the 4931st Test Squadron, part of the Special Weapons Centre and also served with the 4930th Support Test Group and Wing and the 4951st Support Test Squadron. This took it up to 31-Jan-1957 when it was taken to Showa/ Tachikawa in Japan for attention and then returned to Eniwetok to the 4951st Support Squadron on 14-Feb-1957.

It returned to the US Mainland, still with the Special Weapons Centre and to Kirtland AFB., NM., on 25-Sep-1958 and then again spent time at the San Antonio Air Depot at McLellan AFB., CA., between 05-Nov-1958 and 21-May-1959. It returned to the ARD and the Special Weapons Centre at Indian Springs, NV., until 19-Jul-1960 and then at Kirtland AFB until 17-Sep-1960.

Another assignment followed, this time to the Headquarters Command at Goodfellow AFB., TX., with the 1110th Balloon Squadron. This was between 17-Sep-1960 and 27-Apr-1961. It now moved to the Logistics Command at Davis Monthan, AZ with the 2704th Aircraft Storage and Disposition Group, where it was stored until 31-Oct-1961 after which it transferred to the US Army.
