A dedicated section of my web site to my life long friend

Robert A. (Eddy) Edwards. 1945 - 2004

Eddy's black and white images cover, in my opinion, a magical era in aviation. Many of these images have never been printed and deserve to finally see the light of day. Excellent pictorial records of times gone by. Happy days spent in the company of aircraft, outdoors in all weather, each image a time capsule. Often just a normal daily event, seldom recorded by others. Eddy obviously was a great record keeper, hoping one day to spend happy hours enjoying and sharing these images with his mates . . alas, that was not to be. Eddy died on the 21st November 2004.

This collection of his work will be my memorial to him, and it will be my great pleasure to digitally prepare some of his many images for present and future generations to admire, researchers to relish, pilots, ground crews, and controllers to remember and reminisce.

My thanks to Verity, his loving wife, who shepherded the negatives this summer from the United Kingdom to Canada for this project. I hope, dear Verity, that I can present his work in a way that meets Rob's very high standards! I have a feeling that he will be watching my every move. What a wonderful guy.

Neil Aird, Kingston, Ontario - November 2005.

Another batch of negatives and note books arrived safely on January 5th and 6th, 2006.

Bookmark this page and check every month or so. I will add images when I can.

You'll enjoy the content, there will be something for every one!

I plan also eventually to list by serial or registration, perhaps location as well? This will be once I get data transcribed from log books and match up places, planes, and dates!! I now have Eddy's old log books, what treasures.
